‘The Biggest Difference for My Brain’

Bachelor Nation fans got to know and love Susie Evans on Season 26 of “The Bachelor.” 

Since her time on the show, Susie has been living in L.A. and keeping fans updated with her life online.

Now, she’s taken to Instagram to get candid and reveal things she does to improve her mental health that have been game-changers. 

In a new post, she said, “Things that actually help my mental health,” and admitted, “I’ve really taken the time to focus in on my mental and physical health in the last six months. These are the things that have made the biggest difference for my brain and overall happiness.”

Susie then lists everything that she does, starting with going to therapy weekly. 

She shared, “Weekly therapy.. I’ve been to therapy at various times throughout my life. It wasn’t until the age of 30, when I finally found a therapist that truly fit what I was looking for. I’ve seen more growth in the year I have worked with her than I’ve seen in any other chapter of my life.”

Susie then listed how going to bed at the same time every night has helped her sleep better and support her nervous system. 

She expressed, “Since being intentional with my bedtime, I notice a major switch up in my mood, mental clarity and happiness.”

The Bachelor Nation star also suggested journaling and shared how it’s become a big tool in helping with her mental health. 

“It’s become such a powerful tool to vent and cope,” she said. “But if writing isn’t your thing, talking out loud while driving is similarly therapeutic. 😂 You may feel a little crazy, but just getting the thoughts out of your mind helps so much.”

Susie revealed her last two game-changing tips, which are engaging in breath work to help calm anxiety and letting go of people-pleasing.  

“This one is a work in progress. But like I mentioned in reference to a consistent bedtime, I’ve started saying no to mid week plans when I know it’s going to take away from my peace or my routine,” she admitted. “Saying no when I know that best serves me and taking a pulse check with myself on what I really want and not what will make everyone else happy.”
